CD103, clone BerACT8, is a mAb intended for identify most of intestinal intraepithelial lymph (IEL) & Treg cells (hairy cell leukemia). It is effective for direct IF staining of human tissue for FCM analysis using ≤1 μg/106 cells.
This antibody reacts with the CD103 antigen, which is strongly expressed on all the various subsets of human Intra-Epithelial Lymphocytes as well as 40% of T cells, 30% of mesenteric lymphoblasts and some lymphocytes in other mucosae. CD103 is a type I transmembrane glycoprotein also known as ?E integrin, integrin ?IEL chain, and human mucosal lymphocyte antigen 1. It belongs to the integrin family and is primarily found on intestinal intraepithelial lymphocytes (IEL). CD103 is also expressed on a subpopulation of lamina propria T cells, epithelial dendritic cells, lamina propria-derived dendritic cells, and a small subset of peripheral lymphocytes. Treg cells express high level of CD103. Hairy cell leukemia has also been shown to express CD103.
